Design & Features of the DynaVap M
The 2020 edition of the DynaVap M was redesigned with new grooves and cuts for a sleek, tactile feel.
This vape works by packing your loose leaf flower into an adjustable size bowl and heating the outside of the device to your desired amount with a torch.
The cap on this vaporizer is designed to make a clicking noise once the vape has reached the optimal vape temperature.
Engineered to be completely modular, you can disassemble the entire vape for a thorough cleaning. You’ll be able to easily replace individual parts as necessary.
On the side of the body of the vape, you’ll find two air inlet holes that function just like the carb on a pipe to control the airflow of every hit.
How to Use the DynaVap M
The Dynavap M is unique in that it requires a torch and flame, but doesn’t cause combustion. So technically, you’re still vaping – not smoking. Vaping with the DynaVap M is similar to taking a dab, but with flower or dry herb instead of a waxy concentrate.
Unlike most dry herb vaporizers, the DynaVap doesn’t require batteries or have any electronic components.
To use the DynaVap, first remove the cap to expose the bowl.
Pack a bowl of finely ground dry herb and place the cap back on.
For this review, we’re shredding our herbs using the Herb Ripper grinder and packing in the flower using the scoop and tamp tool from VPM. This cheap scooping and tamping tools helps pack down your flower to produce more dense vapors. It comes in super handy for packing bowls so you don’t have to deal with sticky fingers.
Scoop and Tamp Tool Editor Choice
Use a torch (the included torch works just fine) to directly heat the cap for a few seconds while rotating the device to evenly heat it. For even heat distribution, just twirl the vape back-and-forth between your thumb and index finger. Move the flame up and down the length of the cap as well.
Continue heating the vape until you hear at least one click (sometimes you might hear two rapid clicks).
You can now start taking some draws from the mouthpiece end of the device.
Covering the air inlets as you take slow, longer draws will produce more suction and a better pull. Every few seconds, uncover the air inlets while still inhaling to draw in fresh air. Hit it just like you would any other pipe with a carb hole.
You can heat the cap as many times as necessary until the bowl starts to taste somewhat burnt or no longer draws any vapor.

Our Experience with the DynaVap M Kit
The DynaVap M is a fun vape and is a refreshingly different way to vaporize cannabis. At first, I had no idea how to use the vape as it’s not intuitive looking.
Delivers Great Vapors & Flavor
But, once you learn how all the pieces of the vape fit together and you get the hang of heating the cap evenly, the M vape works surprisingly well. It packs quite a punch in the flavor department and has the ability to produce some sizable vapor clouds.
When you perfect the technique of heating the cap, you’ll have to experiment with the duration and placement of the flame. If you manage to use just the right amount of low heat, the first hit out the DynaVap M will deliver some of the tastiest vapors you can experience with any dry herb vaporizer.
Adjustable Bowl Piece
I also like how the bowl capacity is easily adjustable. This vape provides lots of flexibility as it allows you to pack small to medium size bowls. The ability to vape tiny bowls makes the DynaVap M a great vaporizer for micro-dosing cannabis.
Removing the Cap Needs Help
The face of the wooden storage box is fixed with a magnet that was made to hold the vape standing upright as well as to remove the cap. This is the most frustrating thing about the DynaVap M vape. The cap can be finicky to remove consistently. Usually, I just wait for it to cool down then remove by hand.
It’s an interesting idea but doesn’t work flawlessly and could use some improvement. Perhaps the metal can get distorted and fit too tight. However, this is by no means a deal breaker. The cap is easily removed by hand – once the vape cools down of course!
Great Wooden Stashbox
The included stash box is a nice touch. It’s great for stowing away your vape, especially if you’re on the move. It also has an extra compartment to store some small nugs or ground up herbs.
You can throw the DynaVap M in the storage compartment while it’s still cooling down or you can leave the vape standing up right on the outside magnet.
The only other downside to this vape is that it uses lots of tiny parts. On one hand, this makes it easy to break down the vape entirely for a deep cleaning. But, the DynaVap M also uses a bunch of tiny washers that will eventually wear out, need replacement, and are easy to lose. The kit, however, does include some wax to coat and protect the high heat-resistant washers.
Other Creative Ways to Use the DynaVap
We’ve even tried using the DynaVap to vaporize dry herb through a bong. This is a fantastic method for vaping and all you need is an additional DabCap to connect the vape to your bong. The DabCap will work with a wide range of vape pens as well.
Final Thoughts
Overall, the DynaVap is a cool and unique little vape. It’s an interesting way of vaping dry herb using flame and without the need for batteries or any recharging. It feels more old school in that regard, yet it’s still vaping technically. Once you get the hang using the M vape, you’ll find that it does an excellent job of transferring flavor and you’ll get some pretty decent rips out of it.
I probably wouldn’t rely on the DynaVap M as my only vaporizer. But the M is definitely a worthwhile vape to add to your collection. I will be using this vape to switch things up when I’m feeling in between bong rips and my battery-powered vapes are out of juice.
